Benefits of Surprisingly Familiar Essential Oils

Monday, March 31st, 2008

By Pace Webb Do you ever get overwhelmed when shopping for essential oils or massage oils? There is such a vast array of choices all claiming incredible health benefits or suggesting emotional benefits. The whole experience can be enough to turn off even the most enthusiastic shopper. What many do not realize is that there are equal, if not more, benefits in familiar essential oils than in the more exotic ones. Essential oils from sources as commonplace as oranges, lemons, and grapefruits are effective in relieving aching joints, sore muscles, and cold symptoms. Lemon reminds us of lemonade or lemon chicken. Lemon massage oil makes an excellent formula for relief of aching joints. Grapefruit is to some a healthy breakfast and to others a bitter fruit juice reminiscent of the grapefruit diet in the 80s. Grapefruit massage oil can relieve cold/flu symptoms when rubbed in upward strokes on the throat area. Oranges give us orange juice. Orange essential oil can be mixed with water to create an effective disinfectant spray. Rosemary has a distinctive piney scent associated with rosemary potatoes or a common herb found in many kitchens. Because of its stimulating properties, rosemary massage oil can be used to promote hair growth when rubbed vigorously into the scalp. Lavender is associated with relaxation: a few drops of the essential oil sprinkled under your pillowcase can help if you have problems falling asleep. Lavender is also used as an antiseptic- great for blemishes and burns. Essential oils are potent because they are the concentrated essence of the plant, root, or flower. With the exception of lavender and tea tree, essential oils should be diluted in carrier oil before applied topically because they are so potent they can burn the skin if applied directly. Essential oils in a carrier oil (an oil mixed with essential oil for topical application) at a 2.5% - 3% dilution are a safe yet effective choice. Author, Pace Webb resides in California where she practices a happy and healthy lifestyle by working with her essential oils, gardening and cooking delicious nutritious meals. Man’s Pyramid Scam or God’s Higher Plan

By Russ Miles As my ezine articles achieve regard, and my self managed website gleans some great rankings, I glimpse Gods unfathomable hand handling all of the seemingly dissimilar, disheveled and intertwined areas of my charmed life. The Holy Spirit has revealed my real name to me, as per the promise of Revelation 2:17`He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’ Ive been offered and accepted a mission to co-captain His health, wealth, and increased spiritual understanding deliverance vessel with other willing earth angels. This continues to unfold as earth angels manifest. Ive been cured of incurable MS (Multiple Sclerosis). Thanks! I needed that Ill be publishing another ezine article about just to what condition my physical body had deteriorated before accepting the cured/healed provision for which Jesus had by His stripes paid for so dearly. Here we see that scripture in 5 (five) Translations: (NKJV) 1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed. (NASB) 1 Peter 2:24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. (KJV) 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (CEV) 1 Peter 2:24 Christ carried the burden of our sins. He was nailed to the cross, so that we would stop sinning and start living right. By his cuts and bruises you are healed. (TEV) 1 Peter 2:24 Christ himself carried our sins in his body to the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. It is by his wounds that you have been healed. The Spirit has instructed me to enlighten an expanding, eager audience of my having accepted Gods private call to Go public on the subject of being His playfully mischievous Apostle, Rascal. While embraced as genuine by many readers, others have adopted the Wait and see attitude before posting their own comments to my articles. It was destined to happen. While some early up naysayers feared a Christian brother who advocated a MLM (Multi-Level-Marketing) plan as a vehicle to prosper fellow brothers and sisters, some of His elect chosen continue to come aboard. One outraged Christian Brothers e-mail both asked and told me. I was charged by one who perhaps had the courage to say what some others have only thought, What kind of pyramid scam are you running? How dare you use Christ’s name for greedy gain? You are no prophet. I replied: I am not running any kind of a pyramid scam. If you would like, check out GDI (Global Domains International) for yourself. Here is an unprecedented endorsement of GDI (INC Magazine’s rated # 37 of the list of 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America) by another legitimate company ~ the respected, 22-year-old National Network Marketing Journal (my own website link was provided to the editorial endorsement stating the opinion that GDI would become the largest network marketing company in the world and that it is entirely possible for a new affiliate to earn over $100,000.00 per month as many already are.) How dare you judge another Master’s servant? (NKJV) Romans 14:4 Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand. Even if I were using Our “Christ’s name for greedy gain,” would that be so bad? (CEV) Philippians 1:18 But that doesn’t matter. All that matters is that people are telling about Christ, whether they are sincere or not. That is what makes me glad. I will keep on being glad, You are right, however, in that I am not a prophet. The Lord told me to “Go public” about His having called me to be an apostle. LOL Yes, I am His playfully mischievous apostle, “Rascal.” Not only did He reveal my real name to me as promised in Revelation 2:17 `He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it’ ~ The Same Lord, Jesus, gave me a financial deliverance vessel to make available to His elect. Do not believe me. Ask Him. (KJV) Isaiah 55:9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (CEV) Psalms 139:17 Your thoughts are far beyond my understanding, much more than I could ever imagine. (KJV) Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men [it is] impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. (NKJV) Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing will be impossible.” I started to say, I am no longer so nave or illusionary as to presume that I could have done anything in my life to be worthy of such unmerited favor. Well, on 2nd thought, I did. I accepted Gods Son, Jesus, as my personal Lord and Savior some years ago. (NASB) 1 Peter 3:16 and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. In conclusion, my reader, I respect you and ask that you post your comment where others will read it here too. Fraud - Are You A Mark Waiting To Be Made?

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

By Michael Russell Contrary to what you may believe, not all scam victims are stupid or gullible, though it helps. Problem is, all of us, from you to me to Einstein to Carl Sagan, can be stupid or gullible at times. All of us are potential victims. As long as there’s a lottery, we will believe in getting something for nothing. It’s an unwritten law. It’s hard to keep your guard up 24/7. And even if you can mage to be on your toes all the time, there’s still a chance you could get suckered. These guys are good. Very good. And there are new and more sophisticated scams born every day. Some con artists spend years perfecting their techniques, you’ve been busy working and eating and sleeping and playing with your kids and, basically, living your life. That said, there are certain mindsets that will make you more attractive to a con artist on the prowl. The usual favorite is the “good deal syndrome”, the bargain hunter who’s always looking to save a buck. Many marks are people who believe they are getting something for nothing. You’re at a hotel when a guy comes up, not a beggar or a wino, nicely dressed and clean-cut, says he’s a business traveler who’s had his wallet stolen (sympathy connection there), he needs some money to get back home so he’s willing to sell his “expensive watch with diamonds” for pennies on the dollar. You look it over, it’s certainly a nice-looking piece. You can’t resist. You give the guy $30 for the watch and think you’ve gotten a good deal AND helped out a guy in need. The next day, however, your expensive watch stops working. You take it to a local jeweler and guess what? It’s cheap junk, not worth more than $5. You’re out $25 and don’t even have a working watch to show for it. That’s not the only mindset that con artists find attractive. Are you a wild dreamer? A guy who always plays by the rules? A gambler? Slightly greedy? Slightly desperate? Easy-going? These crooks know how to spot all of these traits and the right swindle to deploy for each of them. For instance, a wild dreamer might not be able to resist and investment scam that sounds like the sure opportunity he’s been waiting for all his life. A guy who follows the rules might meet up with a guy who just needs $30 to get home, since his wallet was stolen. A gambler might get suckered by a three-card-monte set up on a street corner. Greedy people are the con artists’ staple crop. Desperate people are prone to scams involving phoney healers and psychics. And the easy-going wallflower types are the con artists’ dream. You know the type. The guy who would rather pay for an expensive water-filtration system he doesn’t need than insult a complete stranger. Michael RussellYour Independent guide to Fraud. What Real Love Is

Monday, March 24th, 2008

By Christine Bettridge We are surrounded daily by words. We read them, speak them, hear them, we categorize them, not just by meaning, but implied meaning, good or bad and of course the forbidden four letter words. If you were to count all the forbidden fours you would only have a handful of vulgarities that are simply throw away words in our vocabulary. But what about the four letter words that have a deeper meaning that cause our lives to be fulfilled and meaningful? Love is one such a four letter word. The entire world understands love and its symbols around the world are endless. Even the oldest religion is based on it in. God out of a need for companionship and a wish for something to love created man thus the whole cycle began. Later Christ came and embodied love. For God so LOVED the world (John 3:16 emphasis mine) that he sent his son, not to strike those who were not following him, like a bully with a chip on his shoulder. But to remind His people, and all humankind that ultimately, we were made to LOVE and be loved. This purpose was not just to love those that love us back but to love everyone; even those that afflict us. Another meaningful four letter word is Fast; not in a speed sense but in a spiritual sense. Fasting as a whole has become nothing of what it was meant to become. Women fast to jump start a diet, or to lose the last few pounds needed to get into those new jeans. Others fast to detoxify their system, drinking nothing but water to flush the impurities out. Fasting was meant to be spiritual. Fasting was not intended to be a somber, sullen faced kind of event. But a joyous event spent getting to know the One who created us, ridding ourselves of the need to rely on anything else; thus detoxifying our lives of things that were superficial. In the Old Testament fasting is a way to atone for sins; to make a public show of the grief felt by the sinner about the particular crime. But in the New Testament Christians are instructed NOT to look somber or show that they are fasting. (Matt 6:16) Though it was fashionable to make a big deal about their self imposed fast, it is Gods wish that it be a time of private commune with him. Its to find that place within us where Christ is the center and to let Him guide our actions. Christ not only taught us these values of love and fasting he also practiced them. Christ leading by example, spent time in the desert fasting and strengthening His relationship with His Father. He spent His time with those that the righteous people saw as unfit. And he continued to die and rise again even for those that spurned Him. His love was not bound by the how nice you were to me scale. He was not limited in His love. This is the example we are to strive for as Christians. We obviously can not be perfect, but we can love. And when we struggle for that love for others, than we can fast. To commune with the one who IS love, and who can love others through us. Whos overflowing generosity with love can spill out, effecting all in our paths. Fasting isnt just a depravation of food and drink of superfluous things in our lives. But fasting is a quiet, intimate date with God. Allowing Him to fill our lives with the love that He is so ready to give. Christine Bettridge has loved writing since childhood. She has written Plays, poetry and many articles. Promotional Marketing: Effective Logo Placement

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Michael Merrick Crooks I should have known better to say what I said, seeing how the caller was from an accounting firm. I merely suggested she put the firms logo on the back of a baseball cap. Her silence caused the sort of anticipation you experience when someone blows up a balloon until it pops. The words came slowly at first finally she blurted, “You you want to put my logo WHERE?!” Trying to regain control of the conversation I asked, “Claudia, why is your firms sign out front?” She replied, “What? Well, because thats where everyone will see it.” “Right. And if everyone could see your sign out back, youd put it there too, right?” I asked. “Of course,” she replied. “Well,” I said. “When your employees are sitting in the stands at the baseball game, or standing in line for a hot dog or to use the restroom everyone behind them will be looking at the back of their head. Would you like all those people to see your logo?” “Hmmmmmmmmmmm.” Placement of your logo on promotional marketing items, such as baseball hats, should be given as much thought as is given to selection of the item itself. For sake of this article, lets assume youve chosen an appropriate item for your event or promotion. And, your primary goal is to broaden your name I.D. Now, lets give the same serious thought to logo placement. Consider the following: how will the product be used, where will it be used, venue, day or evening event, indoor or outdoor, will people be sitting or standing? With ball caps worn to a sporting event, most want to put the logo on the front. But if you want to maximize the advertising potential of a cap, put the logo on the back as well. Folding, portable chairs are another place people commonly misplace the logo. Why put the logo on the front of the chair, where it is covered up when the chair is in use? Better to put the logo on the backside of the chair where everyone behind the user can see your logo. What about pencils and pens? If you think about it, youll ensure that the imprint is as near the eraser end as possible. This way, your logo remains to be seen even after multiple sharpenings. Same goes for pens but for a different reason. People hold a pen towards the bottom. If your logo is imprinted toward the bottom it will be covered up when the item is used properly. Fat lot of good that does you. With mugs, ask yourself, “Who do I want to see my logo? The person drinking? The person sitting across from the person drinking? Both? Pick up a mug and drink from it paying careful attention to what you see. Imagine your logo or message on the INSIDE lip of the mug. How about the bottom inside of the mug. And remember the bottom outside of the mug too. All these areas are imprintable with your logo. You need merely decide who you want to see your logo and how much you can afford to invest in a mug. Say you want to have your name seen at the beach. “Hey! How about beach towels?”, someone yells. Beach towels are an ok idea, except for the fact that when people lay on them theyll cover up your logo. And while some people may leave your towel stretched out while they take a dip or play beach volley ball, many will scrunch the towel up to keep sand off of it. So a beach blanket may be a great idea. But again, when in use, your logo is covered up. A better idea for the beach may be a cooler. Here again, most people will want the logo on the lid of the cooler. Thats fine and dandy if you pretty much want your logo to be seen only by the owner of the cooler and then only when theyre right on top of it getting in it. Better, is to put the logo on the front and/or back of the cooler. This way your logo can be seen by most who walk by the cooler and from a greater distance. As far as the accounting firm? After some thought, Claudia put the logo on the front AND back of the hat and had a successful ballpark outing. She said that once at the ballpark, the back of the hat made perfect sense. Big or small, put your sign (logo) where people will see it. Michael Merrick Crooks is a 23-year advertising veteran, copywriter and founder of Crooks Advertising Alliance. What is Gastric Bypass Surgery?

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Steven Kribbs Gastric bypass surgery is a part of a major change in your life and you may find or be finding that your loved one is resisting you in your decision. Much of their resistance is valid and should be listened to. They will understandably fear the surgery. It is major and invasive. There is a risk that you will develop complications and die. No one wants to lose their loved one, especially if they feel that the surgery that is about to be performed isnt necessary. Of course gastric bypass surgery is often necessary and is even considered a last resort measure because its so drastic. While your loved ones care about you they cant be you and may not realize how much pain you may be in emotionally or physically. Its important to sit with them and discuss the surgery, even include them in each step you go through on your way to have gastric bypass surgery. This will help them to feel more secure and more knowledgeable about what you are undergoing. After the gastric bypass surgery you will be losing weight rapidly and will be on a new diet, basically a new lifestyle, which your loved one may find hard to deal with. The whole new you may cause some insecurity. Natural thoughts will run through their heads, such as Shes losing so much weight will she still want me? Or they may fear becoming inferior in the relationship because you are changing and they arent. This is a very fragile time emotionally for the both of you and its important to stay connected. Tell your loved one that their support is what helps you be a better person. And reciprocate their love and support by working 100% to support them as much as they support you and more. Hurricane Preparedness and Workers’ Compensation

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

By Linda Fox Among the lessons learned from the 2005 hurricane season are how to deal with displaced workers, especially those that are injured. All states could take a cue from Texas Governor Rick Perry, who issued a bulletin in anticipation of impending disasters. The bulletin was very proactive in nature. It advised companies and others to have an alternative plan for reporting injuries in the event of displacement due to natural disasters. The target audience included workers’ compensation insurance companies for both hurricane victims as well as evacuees from all along the Gulf Coast. Some specifics mentioned are for companies to:provide methods for reporting a change of address for displaced employees provide displaced workers with immediate medical attention when injured quickly distribute benefit checks allow extensions of deadlines for filing claims This advice could certainly apply to more areas than workers’ compensation. Everyone can learn to be more proactive. Find out your companies position and procedures on medical care when disasters occur and cause your own potential displacement. Keep information of this nature for each person in your family or household handy. Lastly, all states need issue or reissue similar advisories so this kind of information is fresh for the 2006 hurricane season. Online Dating-Pay vs. Free Sites

Monday, March 17th, 2008

By Erick Shipmon With over 100 free online dating sites, it’s easy to choose to log on or post your profile for free, but there are some unique differences between pay and free sites that you should take into consideration before signing up. Online dating services have grown since 1998, when the first ones hit the internet. There a sites especially for every type of person now, from teen online dating to senior online dating, with everyone else in between. The bottom line is you get what you pay for. Joining a paying online dating service where there is a monthly or yearly fee says that you are willing to abide by the rules, etiquette, and supervision that the pay site tend to have. There are also no pop ups or little other advertising on pay sites, as this is how free online dating sites pay for their space. Adult dating online through a paying membership site also usually means that you will have some hurdles to go over in order to get in. This is for your safety, so when they ask for a minimum length answer to profile questions, they are trying to weed out the people who are not serious. Another online dating tip for choosing sites is to choose one that requires a photo, even though a lot of sites don’t, because they fear minimal participation (no one thinks they look good in a photo.) The best online dating service will require two things that a free site can not usually afford to have-payment through credit card only and software in 24 hour use which detects phrases that are considered inappropriate for the site. Credit cards can be traced, which deters potential threats from using the site, knowing that they can be traced, and 24 hour software will censure crass material, or block the user altogether. Tips for an Elegant Wedding on a Shoestring Budget

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By Brenda Frezell Brides on a budget do not necessarily want to go for the Cheap Look. Instead of being cheap, think of yourself as conservative. Elegance can come from the simplest of things. The following are some tips to help you keep within your wedding budget. 1. Start planning WAY in advance. The more time you have to plan, the more bargains you can find. 2. Decide what you absolutely need for your wedding. I skipped (among other things) the wedding favors, a slip, and the limo. They were not missed at all. 3. Don’t impulse buy unless you will absolutely die without it. You can usually find it elsewhere for less if you keep looking. 4. If you impulse buy, keep the receipt in case you change your mind. 5. Brides ALWAYS change their minds (it’s a bride’s prerogative.) 6. Use wedding internet message boards either locally or globally to find that perfect something (example, asking where to find inexpensive candles will usually prompt about 20 brides to tell you their favorite internet sites and how they got the bargain.) 7. Borrow things from friends or family who recently had a wedding. 8. Shop after-Christmas, after-New Years or after-Easter sales. You can find great bargains on jewelry, shoes, flower girl dresses, bridesmaids dresses, flowers and decorations. 9. Don’t be afraid of Ebay. It can be your friend. I found my tiara on e-bay for $12, my veil for $40 (I could have gone for less but didn’t want to), my shoes for $19, my wedding flowers and petals, my garter, my purse, and various odds and ends that can really save up. 10. Be creative. Even if you think you don’t have a creative bone in your body, you really do or you know someone who is. People LOVE to be asked to help with your wedding!!! 11. If you haven’t heard it before, you’re going to hear it now…. stay away from everything marked “Bridal” or “Wedding.” It’s time to think outside of the box, as they say. I only had $5,500 to spend on my wedding, some of us have less than that, so when you’re looking to save money, start by looking in what the bridal industry would call all the WRONG places… 12. Instead of buying my wedding cake topper at a bridal shop, I bought it at www.GoCollect.com. It cost me $20. And now that my wedding is over, it makes a nice knicknack for my dresser in my bedroom. 13. Buy silk flowers and do your own. Flowers cost a fortune, and they last one day. This worked out great for me because I have allergies and didn’t want real anyways. I got my silk flowers at Ebay.com. And I was able to buy them in the color I wanted since they are fake! Or if you want to go simple, just do a single rose for each of your bridesmaids and just do a few for yourself. No need to get fancy here. Simple can be very elegant. 14. If you’re going to buy a wedding related book, buy this one (and no, I’m not a paid endorsement, just a satisfied bride) Bridal Bargains. This book is indispensable. Don’t even bother getting anything else. Trust me, I’ve tried the rest and this one’s the best. And they offer a money back guarantee - not many wedding related items offer that! The Samsung X830 - Mobile Music That’s More Flexible Than Mp3 Players

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sean_Mauger]Sean Mauger Bad Apples and Mucky Windows The main reason most PC music players, and subsequently the personal Music Players that use the files, make everything so difficult is all to with business. Its their attempt to monopolise on your music collection. Have you noticed that when you install Windows Media-player or Apple itunes, the first thing it wants to do for you is convert your whole music archive into its own format. For example, my whole music collection was in Mp3 format (the most universally accepted format by the way), I installed iTunes and without paying attention it converted my whole music archive into AAC format. What use is this to someone who doesnt have an iPod? Absolutely Nothing! What really gripes me is this conversion has nothing to do with this type of file sounding better than any another, or that this music file uses less memory, in fact there are actually no real benefits for us, as the people who use the files, to have our music collection converted. The only person this benefits is Apple, because I now HAVE to use itunes to play my music and until now had to have an iPod to play these files. So whats the answer when this happens to you? There are two options here, one is to source a software converter that will change all your music back to Mp3, or to find a device that accepts you new monopolised file format, in the case of my example this would be an iPod… is the penny beginning to drop yet? Heres my universal alternative, Enter the Samsung X830. This mobile phone was designed by Samsung with music in mind. On the outside it is a very stylish device and will do all the things most Mp3 devices will do, The Jog wheel is similar to that of the iPod. But whats really clever is whats on the inside… This mobile phone will play and work with you music collection no matter what format it is now, it will play the universal Mp3 format and all the monopolised file formats such as AAC (itunes/Apple) and WMA (media-player/windows). This gives you ultimate flexibility because you can play a mix of all the file formats on one device, also it has a simple to use transfer process, you can send your music to the phone from your PC using either lightning fast USB2 or Bluetooth.
