Wedding Photography: Recording Your Memories

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

By Michelle Davis Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. You want to capture every moment for you, your friends, and family to cherish for the rest of your lives. Planning for excellent photography can help you remember the details about your wedding. For example, the careful steps you take walking down the aisles, or the long kiss you enjoyed while sticking the cake. They set the stage for adorable photos that make you the envy of your single friends. But come back here for a moment and let us prepare your plan for having great photos at your wedding. Hire a Professional If you want to have quality photographs, you probably want to hire a professional. Even if your great-uncle is a good amateur photographer, you are better off hiring someone who regularly shoots at weddings. When you are hiring a professional to do the shoot, be sure that he comes well recommended. Ask to see wedding photos this person took at another wedding. If the photos are not your style, find another photographer. You can find many photographers in the yellow pages or ones your friends have hired in the past. Consider Your Budget Before you make a final decision on your wedding photography, you need to consider you budget. Remember that your pictures will last a lifetime, whereas other party goods such as cake, flowers and expensive party drinks will only last a short while. It may be wise to spend a bit more money on your wedding photographs, so you will have pictures to preserve everything about your special day. Be Specific with Photo Must-haves Even if you have a competent photographer, you should specific about the pictures you want taken. Even if you think that your wants are common, mention them to the photographer. This can serve as a checklist so the photographer will not miss a moment you consider special. It is usually best if you sit down and come up with a list of photos that you want taken at your wedding. Of course, you want to allow the photographer free reign to use his imagination. But you must clarify your objectives before the shoot begins. Specific photos that are important to most brides include family pictures, the kiss, the first dance together, wedding party photos and walking down the isle. Get Guests Involved Even though you may have a professional doing your wedding photography, it is often a great idea to get your guests involved as well. Passing out disposable cameras at the wedding reception can be great for getting great photos that are spontaneous and fun. Your guests will enjoy having the opportunity to catch cute snapshots for you. Some may surprise you and others may make you wish you were somewhere else. But it is a good way to make your guests feel at home on your big day. Photos are a way that you can preserve the memories of your wedding day for years to come. You also want to have the best photographer and pictures you can buy. Get the latest in wedding favors know how from the only true source at http://www.weddingknack.com . Unsecured Small Business Loans: Avoiding Undercapitalization

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Alfred_Anderson]Alfred Anderson Every business day, many ambitious entrepreneurs begin new businesses, while on the other hand many others shut down their loss making concerns. The probability of a small business failure is relatively high ,primarily due to some wrong business decisions made by the aspiring entrepreneurs. The worst kind of small business failure is undercapitalization that is characterized by a state of bankruptcy due to lack of sufficient operating capital. A business can slip down to the state of undercapitalization due to a variety of reasons like market competition, management mistakes, bad business location, loss of profit generating clients, creditor disputes, personal problems, and even calamities involving natural disasters and accidents. However apart from all these reasons, lack of proper financial planning primarily leads to the state of undercapitalization. Success of a small business relies on a strong foundation of proper capital planning. Improper financial planning can easily pull down a small business concern to a state of under capitalization. In order to avoid this, the small business owners should plan out a proper funding strategy for their venture. Opting for an unsecured small business loan could be a very good financing proposition. These loans are offered without any security or collateral whatsoever. The character and reliability of the applicant can only ensure the availability of such a loan. As these loans are not guaranteed with an asset, the risk of repossession is nonexistent in this case. Typically these loans are in form of credit card debt, bank overdrafts, personal loans, corporate bonds and credit facilities on lines of credit. The rate of interest charged on an unsecured loan is significantly greater than that of a secured loan. This is primarily due to the fact that an unsecured loan translates into a greater risk burden on the lender. Small business owners can also go in for an unsecured cash advance to fund their business ventures. Unlike secured loans an unsecured cash advance does not require a collateral or a security. The unsecured cash advance system of funding is repaid on the basis of future credit card receivables. Other forms of payments, in form of cash and checks are not utilized for repayment purpose. The primary advantage of an unsecured cash advance funding system is its usefulness in meeting the working capital requirements of small business owners. The kind of funding system to opt for varies from person to person. It depends purely on their business goals and capital adequacy. However repayment plans calculated on a higher interest rate as in the case of an [http://1rstfunds.com/]unsecured small business loan is always difficult to maintain than the sales driven credit card receivable option provided by an unsecured cash advance system of funding. On this account, opting for an unsecured cash advance surely has an edge over other types of business funding schemes. Alfred Anderson has rich experience in the field of online brand marketing. Marketing Your Business Using CD Business Cards

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

By Andy Carr CD Business Cards have become of the most widely heralded marketing tools used today. Why? Because quite simply they work. The information delivered on such a small disc and the overall impact is unmatched. (Plus they’re really cool to hand out.) Over the last few years some very interesting changes have taken place in this e-card market. With the introduction of CD business cards, CD-R business cards and shaped CDs, companies from industry and manufacturing to service and retail have put together some incredible multimedia presentations. In basic terms, CD-ROM Business Cards are mini CDs that can be programmed to deliver multimedia presentations, product catalogs, video infomercials, Web sites, links, resumes and much more. They are a fabulous way to bring new visitors to your business or Web site. If used properly they can deliver a much higher ROI (return on investment) than conventional marketing. We have found the following has proven successful for a number of our clients. Keep it simple: The CD Business Card has the power to deliver a high-impact, full-blown media presentation with sights, sounds, bells and whistles. In my experience it is best not to overdo it. Grab the customer’s attention with a brief introduction, get your point across and provide a URL link and contact info. Don’t get involved in a presentation that takes 15 minutes to view, unless you know they want to view it. Make sure the card is self-executing, so all the viewer has to do is insert the CD into their ROM drive sit back and view the presentation. Contests: Although CD cards are intriguing enough by themselves, you can ensure the prospective client will view its contents by using the card to run a contest. Simply code the discs with a series of numbers and encourage the viewer to visit your Web site or location to check for the winning number. Direct mail: If you plan on using the CD card as a direct mail piece, personalize each CD label or presentation by using the prospect’s name or company name. This may prove more time consuming, but the end result will be well worth the effort. Track results: Make sure to code the URL links and e-mail address on all your CD cards so you can track the results. The simplest way to do this is to add a tag to your e-mail or URL - mailto:info@cardiscs.com?subject=CD or [WEB SITE]. Use CD-Rs: Test the waters before making a large investment by using CD-R business cards. The great thing about using recordable CD biz cards is you don’t have to make thousands at a time; you can burn 25 to 50 on your own burner, test and retest the results until you find a presentation that delivers the desired result. Consider the shape of the discs: CD business cards come in two shapes, 1) the standard rink shape straight top and bottom curved sides (it resembles a hockey rink.) 2) the rectangle shape all four sides have straight edges (it resembles a credit card.) Based on my experience some customers are hesitant to put a rectangle shaped disc in their ROM drive, even though they are safe, have been tested and used for a few years without incident. I usually use the rink shaped discs so I don’t risk eliminating potential viewers. Andy Carr is the president of Citiscape Shapes. A supplier of CD business cards for the last 8 years. After WLS: Goodbye Self-Loathing! Hello Self-Loving!

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

By Kaye Bailey You wont believe what happened to me today! I was getting ready for work and saw myself naked in the full-length mirror and I didnt hate what I saw! I actually gave myself an unrehearsed slightly passive self-compliment You dont look bad today. The reason this is monumental is because most of the time when I look in the mirror I do not like what I see and I give myself harsh criticism. I suppose after years of self-loathing that it is more comfortable to degrade my appearance than to appreciate it. Many patients report hyper-judging their bodies after weight loss; it seems the thinner we get the more judgmental we are of our bodies. These days Im critical of thighs that seem a bit jiggly and some very unattractive cottage cheese dimples on my rear end. Loathing these body parts keeps me from appreciating a thin waist, toned arms or those curious collarbones that were in hiding for so many years. Body dysmorphic disorder is a mental image many victims of anorexia nervosa have that tells them they look fat, even when they are emaciated. Morbidly obese people and bariatric patients can suffer from body dysmorphia as well. One reader, ThereseD, posted this message regarding body perception: Body Dysmorphia is REAL! Over five years after my open RNY gastric bypass and I got hit with it again just last night, when I was cleaning out my closet. My daughter commented that my new shirt, which I was so proudly placing at the front, was too big and needs to go in the “go” pile. I checked the label and sure enough, it said “Large”. Following my revision surgery of April 18, 2005, I still have my bandages and I’m probably wearing a size 4 Petite . . . and still I put on a smart and stylish new top in a size that’s just too big for me! Oops! When we were morbidly obese our emotional coping mechanisms kicked in and many of us were able to convince ourselves we really werent that big. It is emotionally kinder to avoid body criticism. The whole issue of obesity seems hopeless. In fact, many morbidly obese patients will say they see themselves normal sized. That is until rude moments remind them they are not normal sized: a skinny chair, a turnstile, a bathroom stall, a flight of stairs, a photograph. This false perception is a subconscious coping strategy to protect us from the brutal truth, the truth about how big morbidly obese really is. After surgery, there is a tendency for the body dysmorphia to reverse. Before surgery we denied how big we were, after surgery we judge ourselves critically like the anorexic and fail to see an honest reflection. One woman, down from size 24 to size 10 wrote, I feel fat daily. I never felt this at 248 pounds I saw a thinner person in the mirror than I see now. I look at my size 10 jeans and they look like tents. I dont feel as attractive as I did when I was heavy. I dont understand it, she continued, but I think it has to do with learning to accept yourself fat so you didnt see all the fat. Now I just have to learn to accept myself as thinner. It has been suggested that dressing in stylish clothes that fit is one way to beat the body blues. Another idea, as Therese suggested, is having a bystander who will be honest about our appearance. Therese wrote, My daughter’s the number one person I go to, when I need to cure the myopic view of myself that I’ve developed. I wish I knew what magic happened this morning that I accepted and appreciated my own body. If I could package that magic I would personally mail it to every reader of LivingAfterWLS.com we ALL deserve to love and appreciate ourselves. Its time for the self-loathing to end and the self-appreciation to begin. Anime, the Japanese Comic Sub-Culture!

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

By Dave Gieber What is anime? For all intents and purposes, this is a style ofcartoon animation that has its beginnings in Japan. Thisparticular genre has a distinctive character and aestheticsbackground that visually sets itself apart from other forms ofanimation. While some anime is entirely hand-drawn, computer assistedanimation techniques appear to be quite common. Story lines aretypically fictional. Examples can be found in most major genresof fiction. Story lines can be found on television, distributedon media such as DVDs, or included in console and computergames. Anime has been influenced by Japanese comics known asmanga. The English word “anime” is a transliteration of the abbreviatedversion of this Japanese term. It appears there are two acceptedways of pronouncing this word. It can be pronounced as “ANN ihmay” or many may also verbalize it as “AH nee may”. The history of anime got its start at the beginning of the 20thcentury. Japanese filmmakers started experimenting with theanimation techniques that were being explored in the West. During the 1970s, further development was seen as the genre wasseparating itself from its Western roots. Unique genres such asmecha were coming into being. In the 1980s, anime became widelyaccepted in the mainstream in Japan and therefore, experienced aboom in production. The 1990s and 2000s saw an increasedacceptance of this form of expression in overseas markets. At one time, the genre was also known as Japanimation, but thisterm has fallen into disuse. More usage of this term was seenduring the 1970s and 1980s. This was the time period, which sawthe first and second waves of anime fandom. In more recent years, anime has been referred to in Europe asmanga. This practice may have stemmed from the Japanese usage:In Japan, manga can refer to both animation and comics (althoughthe use of manga to refer to animation is mostly restricted tonon-fans). Among English speakers, manga usually has thestricter meaning of “Japanese comics”. Dave Gieber is the owner and editor of a website built aroundone of his childhood passions.
